Today was a short drive from Zahedan, Iran to Iran-Pakistan border. This again was a horrible border crossing as we spent the whole day clearing border.
Whilst crossing border, Iran will charge a fuel leavy and some Insurance and other things. I think for a private car crossing the border, the charges will be roughly around a £1,000. We were aid workers and the Ambulances were for charity and with some contacts we crossed at a much reduced rate.
The border crossing was tiring and we crossed the border late at night and stayed in our Ambulance at the Pakistani Custom office, yards away from the border. The custom officials stayed till 3 am trying to clear the Ambulances, although it was 1 May and a bank holiday in Pakistan, thankful to them.
